Culture: To Cultivate

The word culture originates from the biological concept of cultivation. Culture is the social context that shapes individual thought, emotions and behavior. Whenever two or more people come together they form a culture. Families, friendships, work groups, communities and nations are all comprised of cultures and subcultures.

The culture concept can be organized around five broad and overlapping dimensions. Measuring and developing strategies for systematically changing these cultural dimensions is the focus of culture change. Defining and working with these cultural dimensions are the primary subjects of the culture change training.
